Refund and Returns Policy

Overview

At The Mensa Table Company, every piece we create is thoughtfully handcrafted to order. Your satisfaction is extremely important to us, and because our furniture is bespoke, the following policies apply.

Cancellations

As production begins shortly after an order is placed, cancellations must be requested within 24 hours of purchase. By placing an order with us, you agree to these terms.

Amendments to an Order

Any changes or amendments to an order may incur additional charges. We will always endeavour to keep any additional charges to a minimum and will advise of any charges as soon as possible once amendments have been confirmed.

Refunds

Refunds are only considered if a manufacturing issue cannot be rectified. Wherever possible, we will prioritise repairing or replacing the item before offering a refund.

If approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.

Late or missing refunds

If you haven’t received a refund with 5 working days, first check your bank account again.

Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at support@mensaatableco.co.uk.

Sale items

Only regular priced items may be refunded. Sale items cannot be refunded.

Exchanges

Due to the bespoke nature of our furniture, exchanges are only available in the following circumstances:

  • Verified manufacturing defects
  • Significant damage sustained during delivery

If you believe your item qualifies, please contact us within 7 days of delivery, providing a description of the issue along with supporting photographs. Our team will assess the situation and determine the most appropriate solution, which may include a repair, replacement, or partial refund.

Natural variations in colour, grain, and texture are inherent characteristics of real wood and craftsmanship and are not considered defects.

Exchanges are offered at no additional cost. Approved refunds are typically processed within 2–5 business days.

Returns

As each item is custom-made specifically for you, we are unable to accept returns unless there is a confirmed fault in workmanship or materials. If you believe there is an issue, please contact our team promptly so we can resolve it as efficiently as possible.

Guarantee

Our furniture is built to last and is protected by our comprehensive manufacturers guarantee:

  • 15-Year Manufacturer’s Guarantee on our solid premium wood collections
  • 5-Year Manufacturer’s Guarantee on selected crafted ranges
  • 5-15-Year Manufacturer’s Guarantee on commissioned pieces.

These guarantees cover manufacturing defects only.

If a fault arises, please notify us immediately so we can arrange inspection, repair, or replacement where appropriate. Please note that guarantees may be invalidated if the product is used incorrectly or placed in an unsuitable environment.

Any issues must be reported within 7 days of first noticing the problem and should include:

  • Clear photographs of the affected area
  • One full image of the entire product

Our aftercare team will then advise on the next steps or request further details if needed.
